    FAQ
How long does a lie detector test usually take?
On average, a screening test for newly hired personnel lasts about 2 hours. Duration of the test can increase to 4 hours. In cases involving criminal, administrative, or civil matters, as well as adultery cases, the test may take approximately 5-6 hours with breaks.
Can a pregnant woman undergo psychophysiological examinations with a computer polygraph?
No, it is an absolute contraindication for a pregnant woman. Generally, if an individual has cardiovascular or respiratory diseases, a specialist would rather cancel the test than take responsibility. However, if the tested individual presents a medical certificate stating that there are no medical contraindications to the test, a polygraph examiner may proceed.
Is it possible to cheat a lie detector?
No, nowadays advancement of computer technology made it almost impossible to cheat a lie detector, unless one has undergone specialized training. However, such training is taken only for state defense issues and is not available to general public. Reliability of lie tests now reaches 99%. Although there are internet sites offering to teach lie-detector cheating techniques, they are often scams, like “social engineering” (demand creates supply), that will take your money in exchange for nothing, offering no guarantees. In some countries, for example in the United States, engaging in such activities can lead to criminal prosecution and prison sentences. Let's hope that legislation in Russia will address this issue as well.
Can a person be forced to take a polygraph test?
No, the procedure can only take place with the written, voluntary consent of the tested individual. The test taker also has the right to stop the test at any stage if they feel unwell. The individual also has the right to refuse to answer a question if they find it awkward in any way.
